Setting An Example
It may appear to be a lost cause, but Virginia and I are attempting to de-fug our office. It's our intent to stress the importance of wearing non-offensive clothing in the workplace. It's distracting and unkind.
In doing so we've taken the first step, which is to acknowledge our own shortcomings and isolated incidents. This will help us to set a better example and to show the others that we too are capable of fashion violations... but we're doing something about it!
Today, Virginia has admitted that she has made a mistake in judgment and going forward will pay closer attention to the details of her wardrobe before heading off to work.
It's out intention to teach others that fashion DOES matter. To put this into terms that may be better understood I've come up with the following:
"Would you want anyone to know that you only have 128MB of RAM in your computer? I didn't think so. Would you want anyone to assume that you think that pleated, tapered jeans are in style? I Didn't think so either. Perhaps you should reconsider both."
Hopefully, someday we'll be successful in our quest for a fug-free workplace.
Wish us luck!

I am proud to say that today I wore appropriate footwear. Black shoes with my black pants and socks! I feel like I've turned an important fashion corner.
