Mexican Blowout / Muddy Jeans
Friday evening we gathered at Andrew's house for Sara's Newfie/Mexican Fiesta.. But not before Jo and I stop in for a visit with our dear friend Kevin. OMG OMG OMG Call us! Oh wait no, we'll call you. We have your number. lol
Mexican/Newfie Fiesta: Sara and her crew took over the kitchen and handled dinner preparations while the boys sat in the livingroom listening to remixes and pounding back gin, as we do. The meal was fantastic (Thanks Strix!) and eventually the crowd was brought together with the sounds of early 90's dance mixes from Andrew's endless music collection. Jam Jams were served for dessert - the Newfie twist. Scott saw the sign and it opened up his eyes...Well, until he got trashed and spent the rest of the evening dancing around with his eyes closed. lol But really, what can we expect when we start drinking at 7pm? By midnight the booze was gone so we headed to Menz Bar where we took over the dancefloor - apparently we can clear out a crowd of our own kind now. lol When it was time to leave Rocky, Brendan and Joseph headed to Ref's in the hurricane and Scott, Stephen, Marcus and I went back to the Hydrostone.
Saturday morning, like the good mother, Stephen made coffee and breakfast - eggs, bacon and sticky buns. Delish. Unlike Needs in the valley (which has all that you're looking for and more), you won't find sticky buns at Needs here. lol Just sayin'.
Rocky's Delivery arrived with a "secret" for Marcus well before anyone else was up. We didn't get to see when "it" arrived, but I heard him playing with "it" in his room all morning... And they say it's hard to entertain kids these days! Scott couldn't handle life, so he went back to bed to get some sleep. After a few hours he was able to get it together and we headed out on a shopping excursion with Mandrew. Wedding cards can be funny - something I wasn't aware of.
Scott, Stephen and Andrew missed out on the Corn Maze, but there was plenty of screaming none the less. (More Details here) It was nuts! Chainsaws, Aliens and I nearly broke my nose getting trampled by terrified homos. Matt attempted to hide up ahead and launch corn at us, hitting me in the head. Thanks. lol The wind was howling and the sound of screaming girls in the distance was quickly drowned out by Rocky, Joseph and Charles who were clenched onto whomever they could find. We had a blast. It was well worth the price of admission.
We made it back to Joseph's in one piece for our horror movie pj party - pizza, popcorn and booze. Delightful. We watched Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street. - correction, the rest of them did as I snored on the floor. Charles was jumpy and Matt reached out with all of his limbs to show affection for everyone around him. After the movies the Hydroboys left - they must have forgotten their pj's. lol Correction, they're non-existent. Joseph assumed that I had taken off in the middle of the night because I wasn't piled in with the rest of them. (Apparently that would be unlike me?) I must have stopped snoring because I was in the livingroom the whole time. It wasn't like I was going to risk being smothered by Matt, who apparently sleeps like he lives - rough.
Sunday morning Joseph made breakfast; egg McMuffins minus the Mc. We headed to Hatchet lake so I could get a change of clothes and hair. Luckily, I still remembered how to get home. I wasn't prepared for a wild weekend like I usually am. I had forgotten my "I'm a weekender whore" bag and the laundry supply in my trunk was getting low. lol We headed back to the city for a time killer lazy day walk/coffee. A quick visit with the Hydroboys (it had been a few hours... We felt out of touch) until cooler people called to make plans with them, so we had to bail.
Jo and I now had nothing to do until dinner at Peter's, so we decided to walk around his neighbourhood for 45 mins as not to show up too early. This is why we schedule our lives 3 weeks in advance people! ha ha
Beau and Bruiser were the special guest stars at our dinner party. We had Peter's signature salmon (always a hit) and a wonderful chat over a Sabbath-sized bottle of wine. It was the perfect ending to another great weekend. Good times.
Thanks for another amazing weekend boys!
